Serving as President of the CalARVC Board has been both a learning experience and a pleasure; I have been in a win-win situation. I have learned a tremendous amount of information from the opportunities that CalARVC provided me. RV Park days, Newsletters, Ask the Expert sessions and networking with my peers are top notch. As much as I have learned along the way it’s my interaction with staff and fellow Board Members where I have learned and enjoyed the most.
The Experts: RV Park days has provided me with the opportunity to gain a plethora of information, and I have taken advantage of it. I would bet that this girl from a 3rd generation family owned RV Park in the utmost northwest corner of California has learned the most of anyone at RV Park days. Since becoming active in CalARVC I have updated our web page, incorporated an online reservation system with an office assistant, recreated our logo (branding) and updated the park’s email addresses. These are just a few of the many improvements made at Village Camper Inn from the knowledge I gleaned from CalARVC. Learning from the CalARVC’s experts and peers has been a pleasure, Wade, Nicole, Bob, Hugh, David, A few of CalARVC’s experts. Thank You for all your help. You along with staff have helped me tremendously.
The CalARVC Staff: These women are the most knowledgeable in the RV Park industry. I had the pleasure of attending the ARVC Convention last year with Susanne in Las Vegas and she sold the concept of CalARVC’s RV Park Day to the vendors. She explained what we are all about, whom we cater to and how we could work together to sell their products and service our members. It was a pleasure to watch Susanne work the room so to speak. Mari, in charge of members, is constantly explaining to new owners and operators that CalARVC is the glue that holds all of us RV Park owners together. We are stronger if we join together and form a strong association to gain ground in legislation and benefits. Alone we have a very small voice but banded together in CalARVC our voice is strong and loud. Debbie is CalARVC’s Director. State associations look to her for information, advice, and ideas. She stands at the top in all of these areas. I cannot say enough about her, but I can tell you this: we here at CalARVC are fortunate to have her.
The Boards: Bob, Cole, Deb and Gene- It has been a pleasure to serve with you on the Camp-Cal board. Your expertise and dedication to the industry is apparent and appreciated. Your friendship will be valued forever. I can say the same for CalARVC’s board- Randy, Pat, Erik, John, Marian, Darrell and last but certainly not least Dana- Thank you for helping me to lead the association for the past two years. We volunteer our time and effort to make CalARVC stronger and better, this Board has more than accomplished that. Congratulations and Cheers to a new Executive Committee!
In closing my final president’s letter let me say once again that it has been an honor to serve. I believe that I have left some small footprint on this industry and while it was tough at times, the benefits have been exponential, I would encourage ALL of you to consider serving on the CalARVC Board. Again, we are strongest as we stand united as an association, strength in numbers…
