CalARVC’s Pioneers’ Fund
Receiving voluntary contributions for Government Affairs actions on behalf of the RV Park Industry
The Pioneers’ Fund provides money for Government Affairs actions. It was formed in 1987 by Mac McIntyre of Mountain Valley RV Park when Southern California Edison decided that RV parks could no longer meter electricity. Over $120,000 was raised during that time and after several years of battling the PUC, CalARVC was successful in allowing parks to meter electricity.
Since that time other issues have been fought – rent control, unfair government competition, counties overstepping legal authority – some successfully and others not. CalARVC’s newest fight will be working with state water boards on the regulation of onsite wastewater treatment systems.
All money spent by the Pioneers’ Fund has been voluntary contributions from CalARVC member parks and Industry Partners. Your contribution will allow CalARVC’s Board of Directors to protect the interest’s of RV parks and campgrounds.
